RICH HARVEST FARMS TO HOST LIV GOLF LEAGUE EVENT

World-Class Field Returns to Chicagoland Club as part of the League's 2023 Season

By Brian Weis

Following the success of the 2022 LIV Golf Invitational Chicago hosted by Rich Harvest Farms September 16-18, 2022, many of the world's best players are returning to the course September 22-24, 2023, for LIV Golf Chicago. The event, one of 14 tournaments on the schedule for the 2023 LIV Golf League, will again welcome crowds to Rich Harvest Farms, which was one of their highest-attended events of the eight-tournament global series in 2022.

"I am thrilled to welcome LIV Golf back onto my golf course," said Rich Harvest Farms owner and chairman, Mr. Jerry Rich. "They brought the best male golfers in the world to Chicago, which often gets overlooked when it comes to professional golf tournaments. It was my hope in hosting them the first time that they would see the potential of Illinois golf fans and return year after year. This announcement brings Chicagoland one step closer to achieving that dream and becoming a true mecca for golf."

Located less than an hour outside of Chicago, Rich Harvest Farms is an ultra-private, members-only club, consistently ranked in Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Owned and built by Rich,

the course consists of 18 perfectly manicured holes and is an 1,820-acre showcase of nature and agriculture. With state-of-the-art meeting spaces, numerous lodging options and non-golf amenities that include a private car museum, miles of horseback riding trails and three fully stocked lakes for fishing, Rich Harvest Farms offers distinguished facilities in a luxurious setting.

When Rich Harvest Farms hosted the 2022 LIV Golf Invitational Chicago, the field included the likes of two-time major winner Dustin Johnson, 2022 Open Champion Cameron Smith, Four-time major winner Brooks Koepka, 2020 U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed, and six-time major winner and World Golf Hall of Famer Phil Mickelson. Smith took the individual title while the Johnson-led 4 Aces GC won the team title. The players found Rich Harvest Farms to be tough, but fair, and are excited to return.

"It's unreal out there," said Smith about the venue. "I love the energy [...] The course has a heartbeat. Everyone is really engaged, and everyone is really watching what you're doing. Yeah, it's awesome."

The newly christened LIV Golf League will showcase its innovative golf format featuring simultaneous team and individual play with athletes competing for an unprecedented $405 million in prize purses. As a result, players will consistently play head-to-head against their rivals throughout the year, providing fans with a unique experience. Each season will culminate in a Team Championship grand finale. The 2023 league schedule will tee off from February to September and will not compete with the Majors, international team events or heritage events.

Also looking forward to the return of LIV Golf are the beneficiaries of LIV to Give, LIV Golf's global corporate social responsibility platform designed to support social and environmental efforts. Chief among the recipients was the Kids Golf Foundation of Illinois, a nonprofit junior golf organization founded in 1998 by Rich and longtime friend Don Springer. The Foundation has impacted the lives of over 350,000 youth through golf and its valuable life lessons.

"We are extremely grateful to LIV Golf," said Michala Mika, Director of the Kids Golf Foundation of Illinois. "Golf is such an amazing sport with so many life lessons, which is why we provide all our equipment and resources at no cost to our program sites. Thanks to LIV to Give, we can continue to spread our mission throughout the great state of Illinois and grow the game."

Grounds passes for LIV Golf Chicago are now available at LIVGolf.com, including special Early Birdie pricing for single-day passes and three-day passes, as well as opportunities to place a deposit for hospitality packages. Fans are encouraged to secure tickets now for LIV Golf's festival-style three-day tournament that feature shotgun starts, live music and fan activities for all ages.

"The LIV Golf League is the most exciting thing to happen in golf in my lifetime," said Rich. "It's the future of golf, so don't miss it!"

About: Brian Weis

Brian Weis Brian Weis is the mastermind behind GolfTrips.com, a vast network of golf travel and directory sites covering everything from the rolling fairways of Wisconsin to the sunbaked desert layouts of Arizona. If there’s a golf destination worth visiting, chances are, Brian has written about it, played it, or at the very least, found a way to justify a "business trip" there.

As a card-carrying member of the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA), International Network of Golf (ING), Golf Travel Writers of America (GTWA), International Golf Travel Writers Association (IGTWA), and The Society of Hickory Golfers (SoHG), Brian has the credentials to prove that talking about golf is his full-time job. In 2016, his peers even handed him The Shaheen Cup, a prestigious award in golf travel writing—essentially the Masters green jacket for guys who don’t hit the range but still know where the best 19th holes are.

Brian’s love for golf goes way back. As a kid, he competed in junior and high school golf, only to realize that his dreams of a college golf scholarship had about the same odds as a 30-handicap making a hole-in-one. Instead, he took the more practical route—working on the West Bend Country Club grounds crew to fund his University of Wisconsin education. Little did he know that mowing greens and fixing divots would one day lead to a career writing about the best courses on the planet.

In 2004, Brian turned his golf passion into a business, launching GolfWisconsin.com. Three years later, he expanded his vision, and GolfTrips.com was born—a one-stop shop for golf travel junkies looking for their next tee time. Today, his empire spans all 50 states, and 20+ international destinations.

On the course, Brian is a weekend warrior who oscillates between a 5 and 9 handicap, depending on how much he's been traveling (or how generous he’s feeling with his scorecard). His signature move" A high, soft fade that his playing partners affectionately (or not-so-affectionately) call "The Weis Slice." But when he catches one clean, his 300+ yard drives remind everyone that while he may write about golf for a living, he can still send a ball into the next zip code with the best of them.

Whether he’s hunting down the best public courses, digging up hidden gems, or simply outdriving his buddies, Brian Weis is living proof that golf is more than a game—it’s a way of life.
